Bobby Houseal Rawls, 77, of Pomaria, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at his residence with his family by his side.
Born on March 28, 1932, in Pomaria, he was a son of Vennie Graham Rawls and the late McDonald Rawls. He was retired from Uniroyal, was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Woodmen of the World.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Ethel Cromer Rawls; daughters, Barbara Ruff of Newberry, Judy (James) Long and Vickie (Mike) Clanton both of Pomaria; brothers, Sammy (Ella Margaret) Rawls of Pomaria and Tony (Gay) Rawls of Prosperity; grandchildren, Brad (Lauri) Ruff, Tammy (Chad) Morris, Greg (Tara) Stewart, Sherri Ruff, Wendy (Kevin) Shealy, Jason Ruff and Robbie Stewart and ten great-grandchildren. Mr. Rawls was predeceased by a granddaughter, Terri Ann Ruff, a sons-in-law, Larry Stewart and Powell Ruff, sisters, Sadie Evelyn Rawls and Daphene R. Aull and a brother, Jacob Donald Rawls, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at New Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Goldie and Chaplain Ed Cheek. Burial will follow in Graham Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
