Boyd Mills Boozer

Boyd Mills Boozer, 76, of Prosperity, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Saluda Nursing Center after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease

Born on March 23, 1937, in Newberry County, he was the son of the late George Boyd Boozer and Grace Mills Boozer. He was retired as a salesman after 33 years from Pepsi Cola and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Ruth Kirkland Boozer; a son, Michael Boyd (Amanda) Boozer of Prosperity; daughters, Dr. Harriet Lynn Boozer of Lexington and Sandra Diane Boozer of Saluda; a granddaughter, Sophia Grace Boozer and sisters-in-law, Edith K. Repp of Columbus, OH and Marie K. O'Karma of Norcross, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Heath Honeycutt, Michael Livingston, Jeffrey Pugh, Ronald Boozer, Bruce Honeycutt and Dale Pugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Pugh, Douglas Warren, Cornelius Hipp, Belton Dennis, Joe Kunkle, Eugene Gilliam and Billy Lewis.
