B.R. Hunter

Billy Ray “B.R.” Hunter, 29, of Newberry, died Sunday, February 1, 2009.

Born on February 23, 1979 in Greenwood, he was a son of Billy Robert Hunter and Hannah Marie Turner Rhodes.  He was an employee of Morris Electric and a member of Newberry Christian Church.

Surviving are his father, Billy Robert (Debra) Hunter of Newberry and his mother, Hannah (Jesse) Rhodes of Moncks Corner; sons, Kolbie Ray Hunter of Ladson and Trenton Hunter of Silverstreet; a daughter, Meghan Hunter of Silverstreet; a step-son, Wesley Cooper;  sisters, Heather Sherrill of Fountain Inn, Ashley Rhodes of Rock Hill, Regina Lodas of CA, Hope Beck of Newberry and Brandy Wittle of Saluda; brothers, Shaun Rhodes of Moncks Corner, Jesse W. Rhodes III of Cross, Cody Hunter and Justin Hunter both of Newberry; maternal grandmother, Joan Turner of Cross; paternal grandmother, Katherine Moates of Newberry; paternal grandfather, Vernon Hunter of Columbia; step-maternal grandmother, Lillie Clark of Bonneau; Wesley Cooper and Paula Pedersen .

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Lyles.  Committal services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Berkley Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
