Brenda Dobson

Brenda Hallman Dobson, 67, of Newberry died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at her residence.

Born on December 25, 1947, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Ivy and Nell Lee Longshore. She was retired from Whitten Center, was a member of Christian Community International and was a Special Olympic Coach.

Ms. Dobson is survived by sons, Garrett (Boots) Hallman of Newberry and Patrick (Amanda) Hallman of Gilbert; daughters, Tracy Terrapin of Summerville, Rebecca (John) Myers of Prosperity and Cayce (Mark) Cronk of Little Mountain; a brother, Douglas Longshore of Newberry; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda Hallman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 18, 2015, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Garrett and Boots Hallman, 2204 Harrington Street, Newberry, and they will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Saturday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
