Brian Cassady

Brian Douglas Cassady, 48, of Prosperity, passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 surrounded by the tremendous love of his family.

Born on January 15, 1977 in Newberry, Brian was the son of Douglas and Wanda Seibert Cassady of Prosperity. He was employed by Trane Technology. Brian's blood ran true orange and purple, as he was an avid and never wavering Clemson Tiger fan. He never missed a game, whether in person or watching from home. He was an amazing, one-of-a kind man who never met a stranger. He was so full of life and could make everyone laugh with his unfiltered crazy sense of humor. To know him was to love him. You never knew what would come out of his mouth next, what crazy shirt he would be wearing, or what he would post on Facebook. You could guarantee it would be blatantly honest, because Brian never worried about others opinions and never tried to be someone he wasn't. He lived his life to be him and no one else. He always kept us on out toes and he was always the life of the party. He loved to go, whether it was a short trip to the grocery store to grab 1 item that ended up taking an hour, because he ran into a friend, making a good find at a yard sale, taking a quick trip to the mountains or the beach with his family, or going to the lake with his dad, who was his favorite fishing partner. Brian loved his family and friends. He was an amazing dad to his 3 sons and he was so incredibly proud of who he was and where he came from. He had a giving spirit and would give even when he didn't have much to give. Brian was so strong. He was a true fighter and never gave up while battling cancer. He loved to eat and even though he lost his appetite due to illness, he is now making up for that while enjoying a beautifully perfect feast with our Lord. He may have lost his mobility while here, but we know he is now walking the streets of gold.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 12 years, Nicole “Nikki” Reece Cassady, who loved with his whole and complete heart; sons, John Douglas Cassady, Coleman Cassady, and Henry Cassady who were his pride and joy; Julie (Brantley) Alewine, who was one of his biggest fans; 2 nephews, Tyler Alewine and Cody Alewine who will always think of him as one of the funniest and most original people they have known and loved; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Travis and Lindsey Rackliffe and a niece, Savannah Rackliffe; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Willie and Josephine Cassady and maternal grandparents, Harold and Betty Seibert.

Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Randy Derrick. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family will be at 1435 Seibert Road, Prosperity. A celebration of Life to be announced at a later time

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or by Clicking Here, to help defray the funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank Trane Technology for keeping him a part of their family even through his illness, the LMC Chemotherapy team, and to all his family and friends for their prayers, visits, food, cards, and many acts of kindness that are too many to list.
