Chester Alvin “C.A.” Cameron, 94, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at J.F. Hawkins Health Care.

Born on May 1, 1922, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Chester Alonzo and Mary Catherine Livingston Cameron. He was retired from the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, DC and was a farmer. Mr. Cameron was a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Wicker Cameron and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece Catherine (Dennis) Spilde of Gaston also a number of great-nieces and nephews and a special friend, Larry Caldwell. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rev. Virgil A. Cameron, Willie Mae Rice, Roy Cameron, Alice Roof and Leonard Cameron.

Funeral services will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church by the Rev. Steven Jackson on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the church, PO Box 170, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Dewey “Bo” McCarson, Bill Odom, Christopher Odom, Larry DeHardt, Thomas Livingston, Mark Christmus and Richard Cameron, Sr.
