Carleton Griffen

Carleton Lee Griffen, 46, of Newberry, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at his residence.

Born on August 19, 1970, in Cleveland, OH, he was a son of the late Herbert “Dixie” Griffen, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Robbins Griffen. He was employed with Smitty's Trucking.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Wise Griffen; sons, Carleton Lee Griffen, Jr. of Silverstreet, Doug Nation of Leesville and Marc Stribble of Lexington; sisters, Sabrina (Shane) Perkins of Pitkin, LA, Felice Emery of Newberry, Lorelli Segura of Gaston and Carol Bush of Spartanburg; brothers, Robert Hoyt (Michelle) Griffen of Newberry, Shawn Griffen of Boston Spa, NY, Herbert (Tammy) Griffen, Jr. of Albany, NY and John Bush of Little Mountain, ten grandchildren; a “special brother”, Sidney Baldwin.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Newberry Church of God by the Rev. Michael Davis.

The family would like to extend thanks to Elaine Webb, Randy Smith, Jerry Smith, the staff of Newberry County Memorial Hospital, Newberry Oncology and Long's Drugs for their many kind deeds.
