Carlton Griffith “Bo” Bowers, 88, of Little Mountain passed away on October 31, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.
“Bo” was born in Little Mountain to the late Ernest and Clara Griffith Bowers. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Nell Hartman Bowers; daughters, Ann Sanders (Jim) and Audrey Caldwell (Hank Bufkin); grandsons, Chris Sanders, Jason (Amy) Caldwell and Matt (Hilary) Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Riley Caldwell; sister, Georgia Crouch of Baltimore, Maryland. He was predeceased by his grandson, Brad Sanders.
“Bo” was employed by Newberry Creamery and Mosely's Dairy Supply. He retired in 1995 as Maintenance Supervisor for Newberry County Administration Office. He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Mountain where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class, Happy Mountaineers, and Cemetery Committee. He served on the Church Council, Lutheran Men and served as Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer of the Sunday School. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018, in the Trinity Life Center. The service will be held at 3:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Mountain. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
