Carolyn Berley

Carolyn Shealy Berley, 93, of Newberry, widow of J.B. Berley, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Springfield Place.

Born on July 6, 1919, in Little Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Cleo Sease Shealy. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the WELCA.

Mrs. Berley is survived by a son, Jerry (Bonnie) Berley of Columbia; a daughter, Mavis Stuart of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Grace Winstead of Wilson, NC; grandchildren, Worth (Anita) Stuart, Michele (David) Knoshaug and Mark (Karin) Berley; ten great-grandchild; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Shealy and Martha Nixon and brothers, Leo, Ray, Jack and Cyril Shealy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 1, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Derald Edwards. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 622 Hope Station Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.
