Carolyn C. Shealy

Carolyn Cook Shealy, 88, of Newberry, widow of Robert C. “Bobby” Shealy, died Saturday, September 12, 2015, at White Oak Manor.

Born in Prosperity on April 10, 1927, she was the eldest child of the late Ira Frank and Eunice Buzhardt Cook. She was a lifelong member who was very active as long as health permitted of Colony Lutheran Church. Mrs. Shealy worked in food service at Newberry High School. She researched and published two genealogy books, “The Descendants of Jacob Cook” and “The Jacob Buzhardt Family History”.

She is survived by daughters, Vicki (Raymond) Ruff and Donna Sanders, both of Newberry; grandchildren, Beth (Mike) Jaeger and Raymond Ruff III; great-grandchildren, Mallorie and Kindel Jaeger; brother, Wyman Cook; sister, Allene Huffstetler. Mrs. Shealy was predeceased by a son-in-law, Tim Sanders and brothers, Richard Cook and Bobby Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 14, 2015, at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
