Carolyn W. Norris

Carolyn Wilson Norris, 92, of Newberry, widow of Earl Norris, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on April 22, 1923, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late George Calhoun and Claudia Mae Long Wilson. She was a 1940 graduate of Stoney Hill School and retired from Damon International. She was a member of Aveleigh Fellowship of Presbyterians Church.

Mrs. Norris is survived by a daughter, Judy (Donald) Nichols of Gilbert; sisters, Virginia Wicker of Newberry and Christine Dennis of Prosperity; granddaughters, Amanda (Steven) Johnson and Robin (Ben) Howell and great-grandchildren, Lilly and Jacob Johnson. She was predeceased by siblings, Ruby Chapman, Clarence Wilson, Maxcie Wilson and Woodrow Wilson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Aveleigh Fellowship of Presbyterians Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mitch Van Metre. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 Noon – 1:30 pm at the church. Memorials may be made to the church, 1211 Calhoun Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the charity of one's choice.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Wilson, David Wilson, Von Dennis, J.C. Wilson, Pete Wilson and Roy Wilson.
