Carroll "Sidney" Metts

Carroll B. “Sidney” Metts, 81, of Newberry, died Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Prisma Health Baptist.

Born on January 17, 1941, in Chapin, he was a son of the late Haskell and Nancy Richardson Metts. He had worked at Damon International and ISE America. Mr. Metts was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and the Lutheran Men in Mission.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Richardson Metts; sons, David Metts of Newberry and Darren (Heidi) Metts of Prosperity and grandchildren, Mallorie Metts and Emma Metts. He was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Metts.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 23, 2022, at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer by the Rev. Matthew Titus. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Lee Foster, Ronnie Cromer, Mac Vaughn, Dell Rowe, Foster Senn, Travis Harmon and Wesley Palmore.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lutheran Men in Mission of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
