Charles Bernard Shealy, 74, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at White Oak Manor.
Born on September 6, 1936, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Howard B. and Clara Nell Bedenbaugh Shealy. He served in the S.C. National Guards for 13 years, was the former owner of Shealy Trucking for over 20 years and retired from LV Hires Trucking Company of Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Shealy was a member of St. Peter Lutheran and a former president of the U.S. Slow Pitch Softball Association. He loved to camp.
He is survived by daughters, Charlene (Andrew) Langford of Chapin and Tambi (Jimmy) Nida of Hillsborough, NC; a step-daughter, Lynn Foose; a sister, Phyllis (Henry) Auton of Prosperity; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nieces, Dana (Paul) Blancher and Alicia Taylor, faithful friends, Sue and Dennis Whitman, Richard Lominick, Wendell Shealy, Betty Seibert and Pete Harmon and his canine companion, C.B.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 17, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Derrick. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Auton, 72 State Park Road, Prosperity and will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or St. Peter Lutheran Church 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
