Charles "Dusty" Boozer

Charles Keith “Dusty” Boozer, 87, of Prosperity, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Newberry Health.

Born on August 7, 1937, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Arthur Pierce and Elise Bedenbaugh Boozer. Dusty was the owner of Sunrise Auto and had served in the S.C. National Guard. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lominick Boozer; sons, James Rance Boozer (Karol Kunkle) of Newberry, Charles Kevin Boozer (Luanne) of Prosperity; step-son, Gene Hopper (Amy) of Little Mountain; step-daughter, Diane Bishop (Keith) of Greenwood; daughter-in-law, Becky Boozer of Prosperity; grandchildren, Will Boozer (Kayla), Max Boozer, Allison Lazar (Kevin), Mark Boozer, Katelynn Roberts (John), Taylor Boozer, Kayla Setzler (Brett), Jacob Hopper, Seth Bishop, Logan Bishop and Jessie O’Shields and great-grandchildren, Braxton Boozer, Ryder Roberts, Annelise Boozer, Josie Claire Setzler, and Gracelynn Reese Setzler.

Dusty was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Gay Boozer, a son, Stacy Boozer, a step-daughter, Jennie O’Shields and brothers, James Elmer Boozer, Robert Wayne Boozer and Arthur Milton Boozer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. R. T. Bowling. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church family life center.

Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Gene Hopper, Will Boozer, Mark Boozer, Kendell Morris, Benji Morris, and Johnny Nelson.
