Charles Franklin Shealy, 80, of Prosperity, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his residence.

Born on October 9, 1934, in Chapin, he was a son of the late Ernest Ardell and Bertha Sites Shealy. He retired from Cone Mills after 39 years. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Adult II Sunday School class and was a former church councilman. He was a member of the Prosperity Masonic Lodge 115.Mr. Shealy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his David Bradley tractors.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shelvie Dominick Shealy; daughters, Betty (Tim) Connelly of Prosperity and Linda (Rodger) Lawrimore of Hemingway; a son, Bruce (Lisa) Shealy of Prosperity; brothers, A.J. “Junior” Shealy of Prosperity, and Claude Shealy of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Christopher (Laurie) Connelly, Nicole (George Simmons) Stoudemire, Steffen (Shea) Shealy, Keith (Angie) Shealy, and Matthew (Jennifer) Lathrop; great-grandchildren, Brooke Stoudemire, James Connelly, Catelyn Connelly, Hannah Shealy, Bryson Shealy, Claire Lathrop, Quinn Lathrop, and Kate Lathrop; step-great-grandchildren, Ava Simmons and Micah Simmons; and devoted caregivers, Alex Boyd and Carrie Ellis. He was predeceased by sisters, Helen Lindler, Myrtle Bouknight, and Susie Frick; brothers, Carl Shealy, Elton Shealy, Clarence Shealy, Robert Shealy, and Leonard Shealy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Parsonage Improvement fund, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Christopher Connelly, Matthew Lathrop, Steffen Shealy, Keith Shealy, Kenneth Shealy and George Simmons.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult II Sunday School class.
