Charles Earnest Kinard, 80, of Newberry, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Palmetto-Richland Hospital.
Born February 19, 1930, in Newberry, Charles was the son of the late Cecil E. (Hun) and Lillie Mae Chaney Kinard. He was the widower of the late Betty Jean Duncan Kinard. He was a long time member of O'Neal Street Methodist Church and was retired from McKechnie Plant. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer and was an avid Gamecock Fan.
Surviving are his children Kem (Rynn) Kinard of Newberry and Alyson Kinard of Orlando, Fla. His daughter Tammy Kinard Bedenbaugh predeceased him. Also surviving are grand children, Alan Kinard, Niki Fellers, Summer Bedenbaugh, Michael Krauss and great grandsons, Isaac Gonzalez and Jordan Riley; a brother-in-law, Leonard B. Williams; nephews, Michael Kinard and Ted Williams. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brooke Kinard and siblings, Clarence Edward Kinard, Carolyn Kinard Williams and Nathan Chaney Kinard.
Charles was a loving Father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was well liked by many through out Newberry and will be deeply missed by those who were close to him.
Visitation will be at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 18th. A Celebration of his life will be Sunday, September 19th at 3:00 pm in McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
