Charles Edward Seegers, Sr.

Charles Edward Seegers, Sr., 63, of Newberry, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on March 29, 1959, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Leroy Seegers and Betty Mahaffey Seegers Hester. He had attended Piedmont Tech and was the pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Whitmire.

Mr. Seegers is survived by his wife, Meika Nicole Seegers, sons, Kenneth Seegers of Whitmire, Charles Edward “Chad” Seegers III and Justin Duane Seegers both of Silverstreet; a daughter, Susan Paulette Seegers of Florida; a sister, Annie Ruth Roof of Newberry; brothers, Leory Seegers, Jr. of Silverstreet and Michael Seegers of Pelion and twelve grandchildren. He was predeceased by his late wife, Teresa Lavon Seegers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church by the Rev. Tommy Harris and Rev. James Earl Harvey. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials in honor and remembrance of Charley be made towards his funeral expenses at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or online
