Charles Ray Stuck, 85, of Newberry, died Saturday, September 6, 2014, at his residence.

He was born on June 8, 1929 in Pomaria to the late Edward O'Merle and Ellen Louise Koon Stuck. He served 20 years and retired from the U.S. Army. He was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pomaria and was presently a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Newberry.

Mr. Stuck is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Morris Stuck; daughters, Janet S. Griffin and Kay S. (George Ricky) Smith both of Pomaria; a son, Danny Ray (Anne) Stuck of Prosperity; a sister, Lindy (Richard) Wood of Ware Shoals and a brother, Hayne Stuck of Virginia; grandchildren, William (Sherri) Griffin, Jr., Brad (Tina) Griffin, Steven Ray Perry, Christa Fay Perry Reynolds, Jennifer Long (Trey) Burrows, Kayla Long (Cameron) McClive, Misty Smith, Haley Stuck, Danielle (Sam) Little, Sam Stuck, Lacy Morris, Ross Wilson, Brandall (Amanda) Bishop, Charles “Chuck” (Brittany) Bishop; great-grandchildren, Eddie Musgrove, Alex Rowe, Brayden Burrows, Lora Kae Burrows, Emmon McClive, Nolan McClive, Piper Bishop, Eric Bishop, Corbin Little, Easton Jackson Little, Lauren Ruff, Peyton Ruff, Erin Fallaw, Haley Griffin, Cheyanne Smith, Kara Hardee, Julia Howard, Aiden Froman, Jose Romo and Brandall Bishop. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Rena Stuck Bishop, a son-in-law, William Stephen Griffin and special pet, Bullet, who loved him very much.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Eddie Miller and Rev. Bobby Morris. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
