Christopher Owen Homesley, 55, of Pomaria, died Monday, November 30, 2015, at Palmetto Health Richland.
Born on May 30, 1960 in Columbia, he was the son of Peggy Lake McAlister and the late Joe B. Homesley. He was a shift supervisor of nuclear operations at V.C. Summer Station in Jenkinsville, SC. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he formerly served on the church council and the property committee and was a lifetime member of the cemetery committee. Chris enjoyed hunting, golfing and going to the beach, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betsy Wicker Homesley; sons, Travis Ray (Amanda) Homesley of Pomaria, Christopher Cale (Kelly) Homesley of Ballentine and Jared Hampton Homesley of Pomaria; a grandson, Owen Ray Homesley of Pomaria; his mother and step-father, Peggy and Adger McAlister of Little Mountain; step-mother, Frances Homesley of Rock Hill; step-brothers, Tony (Rebecca) McAlister of Little Mountain, Robert (Vanessa) Chapman and James Chapman both of Rock Hill; niece, Samantha McAlister of Chapin and a godson, Kedric Wadworth of Pomaria.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Derald Edwards. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 622 Hope Station Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Kiker, Donald Lake, Jeffery Lake, John Gay, J.B. Wicker, Fred Lucas, Henry Manos and Mike Johnson.
