Christine Wicker

Christine Shealy Wicker, 82, of Pomaria, widow of James Harold “Mutt” Wicker, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 28, 1931, in Leesville, she was the daughter of the late Bunyon Addison Wayne and Cora Adelle Rish Shealy. Mrs. Wicker was retired from Quality Stitching and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

She is survived by sons, Rodney Harold Wicker and J.B. (Tammy) Wicker both of Pomaria; daughters, Marie (Dewey) Earwood of Prosperity and Brenda (Steve) Bass and Lisa (Todd) Sanders both of Pomaria; a sister, Suda Mae Suber of Chapin; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Shealy and a brother, John Shealy.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2014, at New Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kathy Carr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o of Robert Davis, 256 Graham Cemetery Road, Pomaria, SC 29126 or to Consolidated # 5 Fire Department, c/o Scott Meetze, 4674 Mt. Pleasant Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Pallbearers will be Eric Bickley, Allen Berley, Trey Riddle, Brandon Wicker, Micah Amick, Jason Koenig and Blaine Bundrick.
