Claude Jarman

Claude Shimp Jarman, 88, formerly of Pilesgrove, New Jersey, widower of Erma Cziryak Jarman, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at his residence.

Born in Pilesgrove Township, New Jersey on December 11, 1924, he was a son of the late Henry Foster Jarman and Mable Goslin Jarman Gaskill. He was retired from Dupont and was a farmer. Mr. Jarman was a member of Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by a son, Claude “Mike” S. Jarman, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Newberry; daughter, Patricia Jarman Hammel and her husband Howard of Bear, Delaware; step daughters, Faye Thies of Sewell, N.J., Dolly Williams of Landrum, SC, Elizabeth Quattlebaum and her husband Robert of Tryon, N.C., and Elaine Brooks and her husband George of Pilesgrove, N.J. and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Jarman.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Adams Funeral Home of Woodstown, NJ.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Daretown, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to Smyrna Presbyterian Church, 32 Smyrna Road, Newberry, SC 29108, Heartstrings Hospice, 115 Blarney Drive, Suite 109, Columbia, SC 29223 or to Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, Daretown, N.J.
