Cleo Amick Wise, of Prosperity, beloved widow of Kirby Clarkson Wise, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her residence.
Born on February 8, 1930, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Seber Franklin and Minnie Mae Amick. Mrs. Wise was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Goldies, WELCA, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Weekday Bible Study.
She is survived by sons, Donald Clarkson (Marilyn) Wise of Chapin and Dean Kirby (Pamela) Wise of Saluda; a daughter, Linda W. (Ranse) Miller of Prosperity; brothers, S. Ray Amick of Prosperity, C. Voight Amick of Columbia and Vern F. Amick of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Sara W. (Marinus) Van Driel; P. Andrew Wise and Marina L. Miller and a great-granddaughter, Evy A. Van Driel. She was predeceased by sisters, Ruby A. Fulmer and Rosaline A. Ringer and brothers, O. Leroy Amick and E. Cornell Amick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 4, 2014, at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randy Derrick and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Larry Amick, Brian Amick, Jim Amick, Leon Fulmer, Jr., Jimmy Moore, Paul Moore, Patrick Hawkins and Kenny Fulmer.
Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Ruff, Lisa Elkins, Dorothy Gladney and members of the Macdonia Goldies.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and her family and friends were her life.
