Clyde Marvin Livingston, Sr., 82, of Newberry, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 12, 1928, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late O.S. and Thelma Singley Livingston. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Livingston worked for the S.C. Highway Department and later retired from the City of Newberry. He was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church where he was a former member of the Social Ministry and the Church Council.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia Turner Livingston; a son, Clyde Livingston, Jr. of Prosperity; a sister, Rebecca Leaphart of Lexington; grandchildren, Clyde (Lynn) Livingston III, Michael (Jana) Livingston and Olivia Katie (Chad) Cox; great-grandchildren, Emily, Tori, Raelyn, Colby and Brock and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Mims. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00- 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Summer Memorial Lutheran Church, 1609 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
