Connie Adams Shealy, 96, of Newberry, widow of Curtis M. “Rabbit” Shealy, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, at White Oak Manor.
Born on August 5, 1915, in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Mamie Goff Adams. She worked for the Kendall Company, Mollohon Plant and was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church. Mrs. Shealy will be remembered as a hard working independent lady.
She is survived by daughters, Elaine (Roy) Shealy Franklin of Newberry and Alice (Brice) Shealy Boozer of Prosperity; a sister, Mina Moore of Lexington; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn M. Shealy of Prosperity; grandchildren, Cherrie Longshore, Karen (Levi) Cumalander, Clint (Jenni) Shealy and Jamie Boozer; great-grandchildren, Austin (Kristian) Longshore, Janna Longshore, Joshua Cumalander, April Cumalander, Ryan Boozer and Mason Boozer. Mrs. Shealy was predeceased by a son, Larry Curtis Shealy, a grandson, Eric Brice Boozer, two brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Mims. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8 :00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family will be at 2866 Stoney Hill Road, Prosperity, SC. Pallbearers will be Clint Shealy, Jamie Boozer, Joshua Cumalander, Austin Longshore, Levi Cumalander, Mike Shealy and Phil Shealy.
