Cornelia Werts

Cornelia Longshore Werts, of Prosperity, widow of George Talbert Werts, Jr., died Sunday, October 19, 2014 which was her 84 ^th birthday.

Born on October 19, 1930 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Roy Forrest and Martha Bodie Longshore. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Adult Bible Class and the Lunch Bunch.

She is survived by a daughter, Edna Shealy and her husband, Russell of Batesburg; a son, Joe Werts and his wife, Kim of Prosperity; 3 grandchildren, Matthew Shealy, Rebecca Shealy, and Hunter Werts. She was predeceased by brothers, Irby Lee Longshore, Forrest “Bushy” Longshore, Willie Longshore, Fred Longshore, and Bobby Longshore; and sisters, Mary Ruth Bobb and Carolyn Mills.

Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church cemetery by the Rev. Brent Nichols. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2496 SC Highway 773 Pomaria, SC 29126.

The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor and Palmetto Health Hospice for their care.
