Dale Pugh

William Dale Pugh, 82, of Prosperity died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Duke University Hospital.

He was born June 28, 1936 in Prosperity, SC. He was the son of the late Marvin and Ethel Nobles Pugh. He was retired from Dickert Lumber, and served two years in the Army along with three years in the National Guard. He was a member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church and also a member of the Adult II Sunday School class of St. Luke's.

Known to everyone as “Papa”, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha C. Pugh, a son Jeffery (Millie) Pugh of Prosperity, and a granddaughter Ashley Rose (Justin) Weaver of Fountain Inn, and a great granddaughter, Elliott “Ellie” Reese Weaver. He is survived by a brother, Fred (Elizabeth) Pugh of Newberry, SC and also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday January 15, 2019 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Prosperity. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in St Luke's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St Luke’s Church Rd, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Pall Bearers will be Lee Turner, Joe Kunkle, Richard Pugh, Mike Riddle, Clay Riddle, and Blake Riddle.

Honorary pall bearers will be the members of the Adult II Sunday School of St Luke's Lutheran Church.
