Daniel Agnew

Daniel Alan Agnew, 63, of Prosperity, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on June 20, 1947, in Valla, CA, he was a son of the late George Allen and Audrey Sligh Agnew. He was a boat mechanic having worked on Lake Murray since the mid 1960’s. He was an avid boat racer who was a strong promoter who brought racing back to Lake Murray. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard and a Disabled Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Cindy Thornhill-Agnew; sons, Michael Allen Agnew and his wife, Michelle and Evan Chanler Thornhill; a daughter, Codie Chance Thornhill; sisters, Nancy Singlar, Cindy Farr and Sally Zobel; brothers, Tommy Zobel and Perry Zobel; grandchildren, Ty Allan Agnew and Joshua David Bordeaux

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Zion United Methodist Church. The family will receive Wednesday at his residence after 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
