Danny Wessinger

Danny Lee Wessinger, 67, of Prosperity, SC passed away at his home on Monday, April 7, 2025. Danny was the son of the late Tommy Joe and Myrtie Boland Wessinger of Prosperity, and the husband of the late Judi B. Wessinger.

Danny had many accomplishments during his lifetime, but was most proud of working for Pete Dye and Bobby Weed, golf course designers, building golf courses, especially the Long Cove in Hilton Head, SC. He later went to work for SCDOT as a surveyor until he retired.

Danny was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Mountain, SC, but was known to visit all area church's on a regular basis, especially Pomaria Lutheran and Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

Danny is survived by his sister, Cheryl W. Cregger (Mike) of Pomaria; nephew, Max Cregger of Prosperity, and a niece, Cally Cregger of Rock Hill; step-children, Mandy Smith Halek, Reed Smith, and Stephanie Smith Farnell, and his “baby dolls” Adeline and Margo Farnell.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Little Mountain Rescue Squad, PO Box 8, Little Mountain, SC 29075, in his memory – they have helped out more than once and for that we are very grateful.

A private family committal will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Little Mountain, SC.
