Darlene Amick Eargle, 65, of Newberry, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on June 7, 1948, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Robert Edgar and Mildred Louise Long Amick. She was retired after 31 years from BellSouth. Darlene was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church where she was involved with WELCA, the Kathryn Luther Circle and was a former choir member.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Simpson Eargle; a daughter, Ashley E. (Scott) Moore of Newberry; sisters, Carol Bickley and Wanda Amick both of Newberry; a brother, Robert (Carole) Amick of West Columbia; a granddaughter, Makayla Moore; step-grandchildren, Lane Moore and Jordan Moore and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Stephen Mims and Rev. Andrew David Eargle. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may may be made to the Summer Memorial Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 1609 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Bickley, Cory Amick, Scott Moore, Mac Kirkpatrick, Dale Shealy, Larry Shealy, Scottie Hawkins and Lee Werts.

Honorary pallbearers will be NCCOA Day Care, Newberry County Memorial Hospital 3 rd floor Nursing and Respiratory Staff, Amedisys Home Health, members of the Kathryn Luther Circle, Pat Powell, Tom Calvert, Marilyn Sansbury, Leitha Drafts, and Kenneth and Deborah Wicker.
