David Brunson

David William Brunson, 81, of Belton, widower of Catherine Ball Brunson, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his home.

Born on June 26, 1943, in Summerton, he was the son of the late David Oscar and Sara Heriot Brunson. Mr. Brunson was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as an electrical engineer from the V.C. Summer Nuclear Plant. He enjoyed playing all types of instruments, was a Ham Radio operator and most recently had taken up painting as a hobby. Mr. Brunson was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. His great passions were tractors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by sons, David (Laura) Brunson of Pomaria and Micah (Loretta) Brunson of Bolton; a daughter, Susan (Billy) Mytko of Belton; sisters, Jean Ackerman of Roundo and Linda Hart of Goose Creek; grandchildren, Jonathon (Jennifer) Brunson, Rachel (Timothy) Holliday, Rebekah Mytko, Alexis Brunson and Mary Catherine Brunson and great-granddaughters, Lauren Brunson and Lilly Brunson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Billy Mytko. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 am – 10:30 am.

Active pallbearers will be Bran Cromer, Jamie Clark, Timothy Holliday, Jonathon Brunson, Michael Connelly, and John Hart.
