Dee Dee Anderson

On the beautiful afternoon of April 25, 2017, surrounded by her family members at her home, Davie Denise “Dee Dee” Anderson, was called to the arms of Jesus. She fought a valiant fight against the demon cancer and was an inspiration to many.Dee Dee was born prematurely on February 3, 1974, and thus began a lifelong health battle. Because of her strong faith Dee Dee never buckled under her health issues. She did all the good she could for everyone she could. Dee Dee completed her BA in Education at Columbia College in only three years and taught for several years at Newberry Academy.

On June 2, 2001, she married the love of her life, Ray Anderson. Theirs is a special love which transcends all boundaries of time and distance.

Dee Dee leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Ray Anderson, Jr., her parents, David and Nancy Frick and her sister, Amanda (Randell) Drafts all of Little Mountain. In addition, she is survived by her in-laws, Raymond and Annette Anderson, her sister-in-law, Yvonne (Dan) Jeffcoat of Lexington; aunts, Retha Alewine and Betty Sox both of Chapin and nephews, Randy (Hannah) Drafts of Faith, NC, Dave Drafts of Little Mountain, Chris (Michelle) Wall of Chapin and Andrew Despain of Lexington. She was predeceased by an older brother, David Patrick Frick.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 29, 2017, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dave Tholstrup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church Help Fund, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, 29036.

Active pallbearers will be Parker Sanders, Chris Sox, Eldred Frick, Kenneth Wessinger, Shannon Rodgers and Jeremy Gould.
