Dianne Ruff Johnston, 68, of Pomaria, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

Born on October 12, 1946, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Ray Langdon “Bill” and Martha Lominick Ruff. Mrs. Johnston received a Bachelors Degree from Newberry College and a Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina. She retired from Lexington School District 1, after teaching for 31 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she served as an organist and was a life member of the L.T.S.S. Seminary Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband James S.“Jimmy” Johnston; daughters,Jennifer (Mark) Ebert of Irmo and Amanda (Neil) Huffstetler of Pomaria; a sister, Cynthia (Phil) Frick of Newberry; grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan, Lindsey, and Claire Ebert, and Maddie and Karlie Huffstetler; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church by the Rev. Derald Edwards. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to St. John Lutheran Church, 622 Hope Station Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Johnston, Jamie Johnston, Steven Mathis, Greg Piontek, Bradd Bunce, and Kenny “Buck” Stuck.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ron and Elsa Hope, Dr. Leslie Stuck, Dr. John Ferguson, Dr. Carroll Pinner, and Paul Richardson.
