Docia M. West

Docia Mae West, 91, of Prosperity, widow of James B. West, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Generations of Chapin.

Born on December 26, 1922, in Rutherfordton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel E. and Birdie Huntley Miller. She was a member of Corinth Lutheran Church.

Mrs. West is survived by sons, James B. (Bonita) West II of Greer and Horace Samuel (Marcher) West of Prosperity; a sister, Lorena Allen of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Glymph.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Corinth Lutheran Church by the Rev. Pam Turfa. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Corinth Lutheran Church, 3178 Denny Highway, Prosperity, SC 29127.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carroll Pinner, Dr. Ben Pinner, Peggy Bowers and the ladies of Blue Ridge Hospice for their loving care.

Active pallbearers will be James West, Samuel West, Sammy West, Tom Miller, Warren Allen and Mike DuBose.
