Donald L. Long

Donald Lee Long, Sr., 75, of Prosperity, died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at his residence.

Born on May 21, 1947, in Newberry, he was a son of the late James Leland and Mary Ruth Boland Long. He was a 1965 graduate of Mid Carolina High School and retired from BC Components which was formerly General Electric and Phillips. Mr. Long had served seven years in the South Carolina National Guard. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debbie Morris Long; children, Lisa (Casey) Wise of Irmo, Lee (Brittany) Long of Jesup, GA and Daniel Long of Prosperity; grandchildren, Preston Wise, Logan Wise, Clara Wise, Gunner Long, Graye Long and Merritt Long and brothers, Kenny Long and Roger Long both of Prosperity. Mr. Long was predeceased by a stillborn child and a sister, Rosemary Long Metts.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.
