Doris Bartley

Doris Rodgers Bartley, 89, of Newberry, widow of Frank E. Bartley, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Springfield Place. 

Born on March 4, 1935, in Monetta, she was a daughter of the late Levi Arthur and Cleo Fulmer Rodgers. Mrs. Bartley was a 1953 graduate of Monetta High School. She worked in the banking industry for many years and retired from the Bank of America. She was a devoted member of Glenn Street Baptist Church where she served on the hostess committee, was a member of the WMU and was a former choir member. 

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Pam) Bartley of Prosperity; grandchildren, Ashton (Jody) Davis, Erica (Chris) Harmon and Austin Bartley; a daughter-in-law, Dee Dee Bartley of Prosperity; great-grandchildren, Jordyn Davis, Joyner Davis, Madison Harmon and Harrison Harmon; sisters, Faye Ouzts of Aiken and Mary Fallow of Monetta. 

Mrs. Bartley was predeceased by a son, Keith Bartley, brothers, Alton Rodgers and Harold Rodgers and a sister, Iris Cook. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Glenn Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith Stott. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Glenn Street Baptist Church, 300 Glenn Street, Newberry, SC 29108. 

Active pallbearers will be Mark Ouzts, Lance Fallow, Milton Rodgers, Tony Fallow, Bart Merchant, Tee Bartley, Robert Bartley and Mac Bartley. 

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Glenn Street Baptist Church WMU.
