Doris H. Long

Doris Mae Huffstetler Long, 88, of Newberry, SC, joined her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2013. Born in Chapin, S.C. on February 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the later Arthur M. and Willie Mae Huffstetler and wife of the late Leroy Long. Doris was a faithful, long standing member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Newberry. She retired as a seamstress from Old School Manufacturing in Prosperity, SC.

Mrs. Long is survived by her four children, daughter, Sandra L. (Bobby) Fuller, sons, Rickey (Gwen) Long and Mike (Marcia) Long all of Newberry, daughter, Debra L.(Bruce) Graham of Pomaria; ten grandchildren, one step-grandchild; sixteen great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; sisters, Caro Knight of Johnston, Nell White of North Augusta; brothers, Clarence “Hump” Huffstetler, Leonard, “Skin” Huffstetler, and Jim Huffstetler all of Chapin; sisters-in-law, Allene Huffstetler and Frances Huffstetler. She was predeceased by her sister, Margie Jordan of Calhoun Falls and brothers, Rudolph “Rudy” Huffstetler and Jack Huffstetler both of Chapin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum and Rev. Ronald Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Fuller, 1857 Whitener Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

The family would like to thank the staff at White Oak Manor who lovingly and compassionately cared for Doris during her stay with them.

In lieu of flowers, memorials if desired, may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Fuller, Rick Long, Jr., Brent Long, Kevin Graham, Kurt Long, Shannon Caudill and Timothy Baxley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of White Oak Manor.
