Doris Malphrus

Doris Cooler Malphrus, 77, of Reevesville, widow of Wendell Hoyt Malphrus, Sr., died Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

Born May 21, 1933, in Hardeeville, SC, she was a daughter of Nell Cooler Nichols and the late Lester Moore Cooler.  Mrs. Malphrus was the former owner of The Little Den Children’s Shop in St. George and was a member of Reevesville Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother of Ridgeland are her sons, Wendell (Debbie) Malphrus, Jr. of Prosperity and Tommy (Jane) Malphrus of Boonsboro, MD; sisters, Willie Mae Bryan of Ridgeland and Shirley Shuman of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Wendi Lynn (Shawn) Riley of Eutawville, Kristen (Jacques) Roumillat of Summerville, Thomas Malphrus, Jr of Mt. Pleasant, Alex Malphrus of Morgantown, WV and Daniel Malphrus of Boonsboro, MD and great-grandchildren, Palmer Jackson, Kamey Jo Roumillat and Baylynn and Madilynn Riley.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Reevesville Baptist Church Cemetery by Chaplain Jeremiah Blackburn.  The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to Harmony Care Hospice, 100 Ashland Park Lane, Suite K, Columbia, SC 29210 or to Reevesville Baptist Church, 400 Rigby Street, PO Box 86, Reevesville, SC 29471.
