Doris Bedenbaugh Shealy

Doris Bedenbaugh Shealy, 92, of Joanna, widow of Lewie Verbee Shealy, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at her home.

Born on November 5, 1931, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Jones M. and Rae Smith Bedenbaugh. She was retired from Greenwood Mills – Joanna Mills after 28 years service in the spinning department. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Prosperity.

Mrs. Shealy enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and her great-grands.

She is survived by her children, Wanda K. Shealy (Eddie Hall) of Prosperity and Lynn S. (Frankie) Gresham of Kinards; a brother, Bobby R. Bedenbaugh of Prosperity; grandchildren, Erik Hall, Alyssa Jesttes, Victoria Gresham and Cole Gresham; great-grandchildren, Landon Hall and Jack Jesttes.

Mrs. Shealy was predeceased by siblings, Hazel M. Blair, J. Edward Bedenbaugh, Rev. Clyde E. Bedenbaugh and Gladys Shealy.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Shafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Erik Hall, Cole Gresham, Victoria Gresham, Alyssa Jesttes, Justin Quinn and Russell Bedenbaugh.
