Dorothy Bickley Metts, 84, of Little Mountain, widow of Tommy Lee Metts died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Palmetto Health Baptist at Parkridge.

Born February 12, 1933, in White Rock, she was a daughter of the late George Holly and Annie Pearl Meetze Bickley. She had worked for Ellett Brothers for thirty-five years and retired from Newberry College. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Alpha Sunday School Class. Mrs. Metts was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Little Mountain Chapter #276 and a dual member of the Newberry Chapter # 226. She served as Worthy Matron and many other offices in her local Chapter. She served in many Grand Chapter Appointments as well as Grand Adah in 2005-2006.

She is survived by her siblings, Betty B. (Clyde) Lester of Newberry, Andrew (Bobbie Jean) Bickley of Chapin and Linda B. (Hewitt) Grant of Chapin; nieces and nephews and a number of great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Frank Bickley and Herman Bickley.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 am by the Rev. John Stoudemayer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00- 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 816 Mt. Tabor Church Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075 or the Little Mountain Rescue Squad, PO Box 8, Little Mountain, SC 29075.

Active pallbearers will be Troy Grant, Kenny Bickley, Bryan Tarlton, Kevin Shealy, Chris Boozer and Danny Bundrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eastern Star and members of the Alpha Sunday School Class.
