Dorothy G. Brooks

Dorothy Grayson Brooks, 93, of Prosperity, widow of W. Cullen Brooks, died May 31, 2016.

Born on January 8, 1923, in Ehrhardt, she was a daughter of the late W. F. and Sarah Martin Grayson. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church and a number of Bridge Clubs.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by a son, Cullen Brooks of Spartanburg; a daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Rousey of Spartanburg; sisters, Betty G. Johnson of Edisto Beach and Joann G. Lacey of Ravenal; grandchildren, Dotty (Dennis) Morris, Jennifer (Mike) Owens, Trey (Paige) Rousey; great-grandchildren, Hunter Elizabeth Smith, Drew Morris, Micajah Owens, Eve Owens, Clara Owens and Jefferson Rousey IV; a great-great-grandson, Connor Smith. Mrs. Brooks was predeceased by a great-grandaughter, Lillian Brooks Rousey and siblings, Evelyn G. Goodman, Donia G. Moody, Williard Grayson and Holland Grayson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church by the Rev. Bobby Morris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Po Box 678, Prosperity, SC 29127.
