Dorothy Nell George Mould, 89, of Prosperity, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, with family members at her side at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. She was born on January 16, 1935 to the late Leland Ross and Dorothy Frances Ruff George on their family farm.
She grew up and attended school in Prosperity and graduated from Columbia College, where she met her husband of more than 20 years, the late Rev. William J. Mould, who was attending the nearby Lutheran Seminary.
Dorothy loved children and enjoyed teaching kindergarten and pre-school during her family’s years living in Tennessee. After moving back to South Carolina she began a new career at the state Highway Department. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with friends across the U.S., Europe and beyond.
She is survived by sons, David (Lisa) Mould of Washington, DC, Mike (Jan) Mould of Gray, TN and Chris (Jenni) Mould of Kennesaw, GA, a daughter, Lisa (Chris) Cloyd of Chapin, a brother Bill (Kay) George of of Prosperity; grandchildren David Mould, Jr., Lesley Mould, Michael Paul Mould, Ross (Sasha) Mould, Olivia Mould, Alexandra Mould, Ellen Cloyd (Matthew) Smyth, Will (Brittney) Cloyd and Andrew Cloyd; great-grandchildren Mason and Ella Mould, Parker and Chloe Mould, Sawyer and Henry Smyth, and Dorothy Lane Cloyd. She was predeceased by a brother, Ross George, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rich Johnston. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.

Active pallbearers will be Will Cloyd, Andrew Cloyd, Ross Mould, Calvin Morris, David Mould, Jr. and Keenan Boland.
The family would like to thank the staff of J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home and Three Oaks Hospice for their loving care during Ms. Dorothy's last days.
