Dorothy Nell Wicker

Dorothy Nell "Nellie" Wicker, 66, of Pomaria, died Friday, September 25, 2009 at her residence.

Born in Pomaria on November 8, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Cecil W. and Mary Leitzsey Wicker. She was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School, a Life Member of the WELCA, and was devoted to serving on the Bereavement Committee.

She is survived by brothers; Harold C. (Ann) Wicker of Pomaria, Carold W. (Judy) of Prosperity, and Louis H. (Jo Ann) Wicker of Pomaria; aunts, Ruby Wicker, Pearl Leitzsey, Eva Leitzsey, Mary Graham, Jo Cumalander, and Carolyn Richardson; Nieces and nephews, Vickie (Anthony) Drafts, Nathan C. (Tammy) Wicker, and Duman H. (Lynn) Wicker; step nieces, Gail (Sammy) Dorroh and Anette (Billy) Bridges; great nieces and nephews, Molly, Sara Ellen, Austin, Mary, Jacob, and J.C.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at her residence and will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Active pall bearers will be, Barry Richardson, Kenneth Graham, Claude Shealy, Henry Jackson, James Richardson, Randall Waites, and Fred Cumalander.

Honorary pall bearers will be Paul Drafts, the Adult Sunday School Class, Dr. Ben Pinner, Jessee Gary, and Beatrice Holmes.
