Dorothy Nell Livingston Smith, 79, of Pomaria, widow of Gary Lee Smith, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on December 9, 1934, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Henry Livingston, Sr. and Vera Kinard Livingston. She had worked for Damon International and retired from the S.C. Department of Transportation. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the 55+ Group.
She is survived by sons, Melvin (Donna) Smith, Chris (Elaine) Smith and Brian Smith and his fiancée, Vicki Mays all of Pomaria; Bob Windham, her sweet heart of 20 years; sisters, Pearl Pullen of Soperton, GA and Ruth Ruff of Prosperity; grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Smith, Crystal Smith, Kyle (Brittany) Smith, Jonathan (Nikki) Smith and Ashley Smith; great-grandchildren, Cal Smith, Katelyn Smith, Natalie Smith and Ashlyn Smith; sister-in-law, Loretta Livingston of Pomaria; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond Smith of Pomaria and Dolly Hallman of West Columbia. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Livingston, Jr. and brothers-in-law, Jack Ruff and J.C. Pullen.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mat Brewington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 2360 Mt. Pleasant Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Kyle Smith, Jonathan Smith, Buddy Livingston, Daniel Boland, Michael Hallman and Brandon Berley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the 3 rd floor ICU Nursing Staff at Lexington Medical Center, Francelle Kibler, Dr. Carroll Pinner, Dr. Ben Pinner, staff of Peak Pharmacy
