Dr. Mozelle Viola Jackson, 81, of Simpsonville, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at McCall Hospice House.
Born on October 23, 1932, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd Hilliard and Corrie Porter Jackson. She was a former college professor and later retired as Director of Guidance at Americus High School in Americus, GA. Dr. Jackson attended Brookwood Community Church in Simpsonville.
She is survived by a brother, Jason Melvin Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews. Dr. Jackson was predeceased by sisters, Hilliard J. Mitchell, Katherine J. Bannister, Claudia J. Miller, Mattie J. Motes and Othelia Jackson and brothers, Thomas E. Jackson, Jimmy Jackson and Porter C. Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Lamon Motes. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Carolina Pregnancy Center, 103 Metro Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
Active pallbearers will be Harold Crawford, Cole Miller, Joel Miller, Ryan Miller and Wade Miller.
