Edith Whitman McCartha

Edith Dianne Whitman McCartha, 75, of Prosperity, died Friday, April 8, 2022 at her home.

Born on July 9, 1946 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late John Luther and Clarice Dominick Whitman. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Edith had a love for butterflies, but her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the most joy.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James B. McCartha; daughters, Tammy (Theron) Huggin of Prosperity, Tina (Carl) Fulmer of Pomaria, and Crystal (Hank) Holden of Newberry; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sisters, Lorraine McCartha, Joann Fulmer, and Johnette Hipp; and brothers, David Whitman and Elmer Whitman.

No formal services will be held.
