Edna Moore

Mrs. Edna Coats Moore, 80, of Newberry, widow of Robert Everett Moore, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on October 28, 1928 in Poland, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Owens W. Coats and Vera Coats Rister.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her son, James Robert “Jimmy” Moore and wife Patti of Newberry; a brother, Robert “Spot” Coats and wife Nancy of Newberry; a half brother, Jackie Coats of Tiffton, GA; two granddaughters, Debbie St. Mark and husband George of Newberry and Amy Silvers and husband Jason of Whitmire ; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Silvers; and two grand-dogs, Frazier and Bud. She is also survived by two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, William “Buddy” Coats and a sister, Frances Gillion.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Debbie St. Mark, 2511 Harrington Street, Newberry and will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
