Edna Hendrix Wilson, 96, of Prosperity, widow of Otis Wilson, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at her residence.
Born on April 7, 1914, in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Earl E. and Estelle Kaminer Hendrix. Mrs. Wilson was a waitress at Haile’s Restaurant, a member of Enoree Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by daughters, June W. Cromer of Prosperity, Mae Goff, Lilyan DeRock and Judy Jolly all of Newberry and Sandra Gilliam of Whitmire and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Otis “Sonny” Wilson, Earl “Buck” Wilson, an infant daughter and grandchildren, Hope Goff and Larry Jolly.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. David Inman, Rev. Kenny Weaver and Rev. James Cuttino, Jr. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Epting United Methodist Church, 1401 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 6104 Whitmire Highway, Whitmire, SC 29178.
