Edward Myers, 84, of Prosperity, widower of Anita Maria Anne Paris Myers, died Sunday, July 3, 2011.
Born on November 3, 1926, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Percy Nolan and Bertha Lee Clamp Myers. He was retired from the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church and was a member of the SC troopers Association, the Sheriffs Association, the Woodman of the World, and Bass Masters.
He is survived by a son, Johnny Myers and his wife Sally of Newberry; a daughter, Charlotte Korn of Ottobach, Germany; 4 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dot Jennings and brothers, Sam Myers and James Myers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 2192 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
