MSG Edwin T. Graham, Jr. US Army (RET), 76, of Newberry, died November 20, 2011 at his residence.

Born on November 7, 1935, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Edwin T. Graham, Sr. and Eunice Holley Graham. He was a 1953 graduate of Prosperity High School and a 1957 graduate of Newberry College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard after 32 years of service. He was employed by South Carolina National Bank and later retired from Newberry Federal Savings and Loan. He was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church where he served on the finance committee and was a member of the Asbury Bedenbaugh Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Newberry Civitan Club where he served as President, was a member of the Newberry branch of the South Carolina Home Builders Association and was a former State Constable. He was a driver for Stokes-Trainor.

He is survived by his wife, Mollie Dowd Graham; a daughter, Susan Graham Dickinson of Charleston; a sister, Georgie Graham Fulmer of Chapin; a brother, Nathan D. Graham of Newberry; and a granddaughter, Ava Grace Dickinson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Wightman United Methodist Church by the Rev. Michael Turner. Entombment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to Wightman United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 376, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 352, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pall bearers will be Steve Richardson, Robbie Franklin, Mike Epps, David Mitchell, Adam Chapin, Jimmy Point, Curt London and Ken Long.

Honorary pall bearers will be members of the Asbury Bedenbaugh Sunday School Class and members of the Prosperity High School Class of 1953.
