Elizabeth Watson Cumalander, 57, of Little Mountain, died Monday, August 10, 2015, at Palmetto Baptist Parkridge.
Born on August 20, 1957, in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Robert Patrick and Patricia Seets Watson. She was employed as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was a former President of the Little Mountain Reunion Association.
Liz had a passion for the Gamecocks. She loved her family and enjoyed watching every sport her grandchildren would play. You could always find her at the ballpark cheering the loudest. Family was certainly important, and if you were her friend she counted you as family. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for anyone who needed her. She fought a hard battle with pulmonary fibrosis and pancreatic cancer with dignity and grace and did not let it define her life. She lived life to the fullest until her last days and was surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Cumalander is survived by her husband, Johnny Cumalander; a son, Bradley Robert Cumalander of Pomaria; daughters, Christy Meetze (Wayne) Jeffcoat of Chapin, Nikki Meetze (Jesse) Clayton, Brittany Cumalander (Jon) Paul and Holly Natasha McGinn all of Little Mountain; a sister, Frances Watson McGinn of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Meetze, Hunter Carl Jeffcoat, Rylee Michelle Jeffcoat, Cannon Robert Paul, Patrick Thomas Clayton, Cohen Ray Paul, and Kellyn Elizabeth Clayton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 14, 2015, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brett Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Paul, and will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
